Rayman Legends Heading To Xbox One

Posted by Mike Zatorski

Rayman Legends will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in February 2014, Ubisoft announced during its quarterly investor's call today.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced the new ports during the conference call after laying out his thoughts on the arrival of the next-gen consoles and stated:

The PS4 and Xbox One will be released in a few days' time and will be a new driving force for the industry. We are confident in our capacity to rise to the short-term challenges posed by the transition phase, thanks to the very high quality of our games, which, combined with the upcoming arrival of the next-generation consoles and the traditional ramp-up of sales during the Christmas season will trigger positive momentum towards the end of the year.

Rayman Legends was announced originally as a Wii U exclusive but also launched for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Windows PC and PS Vita earlier this year. It did exceedingly well in our review, which you can check out here.

Good news for the next-gen consoles. Hopefully it can get some good advertising this time and maybe sell better than it did on the other systems.

@Gamer83 Needs a great advertising campaign or a reduced price and a big push on digital services. I've introduced Origins and Legends to SO many people, and they all fall in love instantly. Gamers and non-gamers, it's a favorite around here. Problem is, they have no idea these games exist until I expose them.

It's kind of sad how Ubi just throws these games out there then forgets about them. It's nice that there are gamers willing to introduce the Rayman series to others but it bothers me that the company that makes it doesn't seem to care. And I get it, AC is a huge seller, Just Dance is a huge seller and these are the games that mostly pay the bills for the employees there, but at this point do either of those franchises need all the advertising $ given how well known each is? I don't think so. It'd be nice to see Rayman just get a fraction of the ads AC does, it would certainly help consumer awareness.
