Halo: Spartan Assault Sets a Waypoint on Xbox 360 and Xbox One

Where it belongs
It was only a matter of time but Halo: Spartan Assault — the Windows 8 top-down, twin-stick shooter — is invading the Xbox 360 and Xbox One this December.
Developed by Halo 4 creators 343 Industries and Vangaurd Games (Gatling Gears), Spartan Assault puts the focus back on long-time enemy, the Covenant, in a new adventure that chronicles the beginning of Spartan Commanders Sarah Palmer and Spartan Davis.
The Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions will include The Flood as a new enemy to fight, new co-op missions, weapons, armour and all-new achievements to obtain.
Since its July release, Spartan Assault has received a rather mixed reception from critics, with a score of 71 on Metacritic. We always wondered why the downloadable game was never announced for consoles initially, and we assume the announcement is due to weak Windows 8 sales. We expect now, the game will get the attention it deserves on a platform where, you know — people actually play Halo games.
