What Games Are You Playing This Weekend - Issue Four

Posted by Dave Letcavage

"We're gonna have some fun, show you how it's done, TGIF."

A regular feature over at our sister site Nintendo Life, is their roundup of the staff's weekend gaming plans. Having absolutely no shame, we decided that we'd pinch the idea and find out what the Pure Xbox staff will be getting busy with at the end of the week. This isn't just about us telling you what we're playing though, as we want you to tell us what's tickling your gaming fancy!

So without further ado, this is what we're playing this weekend.

Ken Barnes

Its been far too long since I've played a Pokemon game, so I'm going to fire up Pokemon Y (Nintendo 3DS) and see what all the fuss is about. Given my love of things that are fluffy and that look like Pikachu, I'm hoping not to be disappointed. I'll also finally get to start Beyond: Two Souls (PS3) at some point, with any luck. It's been taunting me from the shelf for a week, but my love/hate relationship with F1 2013 (Xbox 360) has been keeping me from really getting a chance to fire it up. One day, I'll finish in the top ten in a grand prix. One day.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since Blue & Red, so I figured it was due time to checkout Pokemon X , and so far I'm having a blast(oise) with it! When I'm not hiding away with my 3DS, I'll be playing and reviewing Mighty Switch Force 2 (Wii U) for Nintendo Life. If there's any extra time beyond the demand of those titles, I plan on digging into my retro-game room. In the past six months my Nintendo 64 collection has tripled, and games like Jet Force Gemini, Blast Corps, and Mischief Makers have been sitting there, neglected. It makes me feel all sorts of bad inside, so I think it's time to put them to good use.

I've managed to pull myself away from Grand Theft Auto V for the time being and have fallen back in love with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD on WiiU. I am utterly blown away at the amount of work done by Nintendo. I've played numerous HD remasters across 360 and PS3, but none of them come even close to Wind Waker HD. It truly feels like it was rebuilt back on the WiiU, with barely any mark of the Gamecube version left to be found. When I'm not cruising the Great Hyrule Sea, I'll be jumping into the first episode of Telltale's The Wolf Among Us (Xbox 360). I recently purchased Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3/Vita) for $10 this past week and may give that a go if I have the time.

Josephine Johnson

This weekend I will be trying to get all the parts for the Staff of Herding in Diablo 3! I'll probably mix in a little Gun Master on Battlefield 3 to break up my looting and I was thinking of replaying Costume Quest in honour of Halloween.

Now let's turn it over to you guys. What games are on your agenda this weekend? Anyone going to be adventuring deep into the Kalos region, or are you still too busy perfecting your life of crime in GTA V? Let us know, down below!

Been have the itch to play Final Fantasy III on the SNES for awhile now so I think this weekend I will drag the SNES out of the closet along with my copy of FF III to take care of that itch.

Also plan to start The Wolf Among Us as well and if I have time some GTA Online.

Wow seems like I'm reading a what are you playing from nintendolife. Anyway, I'm still playing GTA V and have gotten back into Tekken Tag 2.

@Gamer83 - A very Nintendo-heavy week, there's no doubt about that. Keep in mind, a couple of us write for Nintendo Life, too.

Has no one has yet to noticed my reference in the tagline?! That's sad.

I am playing Resident Evil REmake for Wii on my Wii U. I thought it would be a good horror game for Halloween.

@JaredJ Great choice! The REmake is a personal favorite of mine. I still remember the day I skipped school to pick it up from GameStop and play with my buds.
