Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend - Issue Three

Hockey, guns, and retro RPGs.
A regular feature over at our sister site Nintendo Life, is their roundup of the staff's weekend gaming plans. Having absolutely no shame, we decided that we'd pinch the idea and find out what the Pure Xbox staff will be getting busy with at the end of the week. This isn't just about us telling you what we're playing though, as we want you to tell us what's tickling your gaming fancy!
So without further ado, this is what we're playing this weekend.
This weekend, I'll be celebrating the dropping of the puck in the new NHL season by carrying on my pro player's career with the Seattle Thunderbirds in NHL 14. One day, I might make it to the NHL and my beloved Maple Leafs. Also, FIFA 14 will be continuing to command a lot of my attention as my beloved Exeter City fail to get promoted out of League 2 for yet another season. Aside from that, I'll be working when I should be gaming, so I have time to sit back and enjoy Beyond: Two Souls when it's released on the 11th.
Outside of playing A.R.E.S. Extinction Agenda EX for review, I'll be looking to finish up Pikmin 3. Somehow I've reached the last area, Formidable Oak, in what feels like just a few nights. Great little game. Additionally, I'm looking to get back to Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, which has been ignored for a couple weeks now. I'm enjoying it, surely, but can't help to be aggravated by the frequent, meandering text. Other than that, though, I find it quite charming.
I'm still not letting up with GTA V. Nope, not at all. And with Rockstar launching GTA Online this week, it's clear that I'll have my hands tied with this Game of the Year contender for a really long time.
My Wii U just got a little more enticing though with today's retail release of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, one of the most memorable Zelda games in its impressive repertoire. It's been years since I've last played this gem and with the new updated visuals, this remake practically feels like an all-new Zelda game. Couple these two giant games with sessions from XBLA fighter Girl Fight and Infinity Blade III on my iPhone, it's clear my gaming quota for this weekend will easily be reached.
I ended up catching up with GTA V and beat it last weekend. It was pleasurable but I needed more, believe it or not. I’ll also be checking out NBA 2K14 as well as still advancing my career in NHL 14. Albeit, I may be a little sported out, so to cure myself, I’m going retro with some Final Fantasy II.
