Two of last year's best games get GOTY editions

So you're browsing your local retailer's Xbox 360 section and have no idea what new games were released this week. No one seems willing to help and you feel alone and scared. Surely, there must be a way — an easy way — to get the info on the latest releases. Rest your worried head young Spartan, because at pX we got you covered on what's hitting retail stores and the Games Store.

This week, special editions and bundled re-releases are yours for the taking. As we get closer and closer to the anticipated launch of the Xbox One, it's only inevitable to see publishers putting these out.

Xbox 360 Retail

Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition (2K Games / $59.99) - This GOTY edition to one of last years' best games has a TON of meaty content. In addition to the main game, all four campaign add-ons are included (Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep) as well as the two bonus classes and more. Now would be the perfect time to bask in the looting mayhem that is Borderlands. Available October 8th.

Capcom Essentials Collection (Capcom Entertainment / $59.99) - This compilation bundles five "blockbuster" Capcom titles in one convenient package (Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising 2, Mega Man 10, Resident Evil 6, Super Street Fighter IV), for the asking price of $60. In our opinion, this definitely isn't a bad set at all. Available October 8th.

Dishonored Game of the Year Edition (Bethesda Softworks / $39.99) - This week see's 2012's surprise hit Dishonored getting the GOTY treatment and for the budget price of $40, it comes packed with all released DLC packs (The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches, Dunwall City Trials, Void Walker's Arsenal) within the last year. Available October 8th.

Just Dance 2014 (Ubisoft / $39.99) - The dancing just won't stop. The popular franchise returns with it's fifth entry this week, with next-gen versions scheduled to be released on their respective launch dates. This entry includes a new World Dance Floor mode which pits competing dancers against one another online as they groove along with the same playlists. The soundtrack includes Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, ABBA, Rihanna among other mainstream artists. Available October 8th.

Skylanders: Swap Force Starter Kit (Activision / $74.99) - Right off the heels of Disney Infinity comes the next sure-to-be-wildly-popular-with-the-kids game in the Skylanders series. There a bunch of starter kits to choose from, each with a different set of figurines that can be played within the game through the Portal of Power. Available October 13th.

Xbox 360 Games Store

Let's Sing and Dance (Deep Silver / $9.99) - If Just Dance 2014 isn't your cup of tea, then you can take a chance with this much cheaper offering. According to the official blurb, this game "combines singing and dancing at the same time." Oh boy, we can barely contain our excitement! Available October 9th

Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion (GameMill Entertainment / $14.99) - Yes, that is an actual name for a video game. Embarrassing name aside, Orc Attack is a 4-player co-op hack-and-slash action game that puts you in the control of four Orc hero's as they plan a rebellious gaseous attack against those horribly vile humans. We're sure there will be lots of cringe-worthy toilet jokes so are only advice is to tread cautiously with this one. Unless that's sort of your thing. Available October 9th.

A bit of a sour week of releases, but we can't deny the excellent value on the game of the year editions for both Borderlands 2 and Dishonored. Heck, even the Capcom collection offers a pretty compelling package too.

How about you Xbox lovers out there?

Really leaning towards the Dishonored GotY. I'll admit that I've yet to give that game an honest chance. Good price too!
