Official UK PS4 Bundles Announced

Posted by Ken Barnes

From low to high.

This seems like a strange story to be running on an Xbox-focused site, but it's always nice to keep an eye on "the competition," as it were.

Sony has announced details of the five official PlayStation 4 bundles that will be available at the machine's launch in November. The basic console will set you back £349 as previously announced. Watch_Dogs and Killzone: Shadow Fall Special Edition bundles will be available, containing the console and game for £399.

For £439, you can get the console complete with Killzone: Shadow Fall, and Driveclub. And the final bundle, which includes the console, Killzone: Shadow Fall, the PS4 camera, and an extra DualShock 4 controller, will cost £449.

There's no doubt that the £449 bundle on the Sony side looks to represent better value for money than what you could get for the same price over in Microsoft-land. The Xbox One will be available a week earlier in the UK and the standard preorder bundle contains the console complete with the Kinect 2.0 camera and either Forza Motorsport 5 or FIFA 14, for £429. Consoles bought at retail without a preorder will not contain the free game, and that's where Sony will undoubtedly find themselves with the upper hand as we run up to Christmas.

We're relatively sure that Microsoft hasn't played all of its cards just yet, though.
