Rayman Legends leads a diverse selection of games

So you're browsing your local retailer's Xbox 360 section and have no idea what new games were released this week. No one seems willing to help and you feel alone and scared. Surely, there must be a way — an easy way — to get the info on the latest releases. Rest your worry head, young Spartan because at pX we got you covered on whats hitting retail stores and the Xbox Marketplace.

September is now upon us and this week in Xbox land sees the arrival of a few big anticipated releases. Without further ado, the new releases.

Xbox 360 Retail

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (Tecmo Koei / $39.99) — Doesn't it seem like every major fighting game franchise puts out 3-4 different (but not that different) versions all within a short amount of time? We saw it with Street Fighter IV, Mortal Kombat and now Dead or Alive 5. This looks to be the definitive and final version though, including a bunch of new content, characters and gameplay tweaks. Give it a brawl if you've yet to give the other DoA5's a go. Available September 3rd.

Diablo III (Blizzard Entertainment / $59.99) — Roughly 16 months after the gigantic PC launch, Diablo III marks the first time the series comes to consoles since the original back on PlayStation. Blizzard has been working hard on the port, making sure console gamers get the the same dungeon crawling experience PC players do. Available September 3rd.

Rayman Legends (Ubisoft / $59.99) — "OMG! Rayman is totally back, you guys! Well, he was supposed to be back in February on that WiiU thing but something happened and it got pushed back only a measly seven months but now it's on EVERY platform like the 360, PS3, WiiU, PC, Vita but totally not 3DS!"

Okay, we'll stop.

Rayman Legends is definitely being released this week and it's looking to be outrunning its predecessor in every possibly way. If you haven't checked out our review yet, then now would probably be the time to do so. Available September 3rd.

Xbox 360 Games Store

Disney Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (Sega / $14.99) — You've finished DuckTales and you're still itching for old school platforming action? Okay good, because this HD remake of the SEGA classic is hitting the marketplace this week and it's looking even more impressive than Capcom's remaster. What retro platformer do you want remade next? Available September 4th.

Freefall Racers (Deep Silver / $9.99) — This one sort of came out of nowhere with an announcement only occurring a few days ago. This looks to be Kinect's swansong and it supports competitive multiplayer with two players. If you've ever wanted to play a kart racer but with playable flying squirrels (and who hasn't?) then this one is for you. Available September 6th.

We'll be spending most of our time invested in some multiplayer mayhem with Rayman and his crazy pals before diving into a looting frenzy with Diablo III this week. Why not tell us below about where your money is going?

As much as I will like Rayman Legends it had it's chance in February when no other games that I wanted were out then. Now I have other games that I want more like GTA V and Diablo III that Rayman is going to have to wait till it hits the bargain bin till it will get my money.

Tomorrow is my day off from work so I will be hitting Target early to pick up Diablo III.

I am interested in Castle of Illusion but I will wait for a review on that one.

Already tried the PS3 demo for Rayman Legends - it's great! Going to check out Castle of Illusion, but can't help but feel it is going to take away dom sales from Ducktales on 360.
