LoveFilm Cans Games

No more from the rental giant.
The Amazon-owned, UK-based internet rental company LoveFilm has today declared that it will no longer provide game rental packages to new customers.
If you have a subscription that includes games, then you'll still be able to rent titles as normal for the time being (although that will undoubtedly change soon), but new customers or customers wishing to switch to a package that includes games, will not be allowed to.
In a very short statement, LoveFilm have claimed that the move is to allow them to fix their focus on movies and TV content. "In order to give the best possible service that we can, we are looking to focus on our strength, which is providing the best selection of film and TV content for our customers, and making it available whenever and wherever you want it." For a good number of years, the company's games offering has been somewhat hit-and-miss, but that hasn't stopped a fair few thousand folks from laying down money to try to and get the new releases that they didn't think warranted a full price purchase.
Did you use LoveFilm to rent games in the UK? With a LoveFilm-sized hole in the market, who will take up the running, given that neither next generation console restricts users from renting games?
