Also, Deathstroke is playable if you pre-order
New information today has confirmed that Batman will be voiced by Roger Craig Smith (Ezio Auditore, Chris Redfield) and not Kevin Conroy as initially posted.
Don't count Mr. Conroy out however, as he is still providing his dulcet tones to the game in some matter. Early speculation is that Conroy will voice current Batman as he retells his Arkham Origins tale all those years ago, thus the reason for having a new voice actor.
Also confirmed in today's news was that Joker would be appearing in the new title with Troy Baker providing his voice. Troy Baker has been making quite the name for himself recently with his recent roles as Booker Dewitt in BioShock Infinite and lead character Joel in the upcoming PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us.
Arkham Origins will surely be at E3 this year and will hopefully have actual gameplay footage at the event. Overall, it looks like the game is in good hands.
Fans can rejoice as Kevin Conroy will indeed be reprising his role as the Dark Knight himself in the upcoming prequel Batman: Arkham Origins.
Some uncertainty has circulated around the game since it's initial announcement last month on whether the voice talent from the Rocksteady-developed titles would return. Opening the panel at Dallas Comic-Con, Kevin Conroy proclaimed, "I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman," to much fan explosion, we are sure.
He isn't exaggerating much either as he has been the voice of Batman in numerous animated films and shows among other video games.
Coinciding with this news today, Amazon has posted a pre-order image on their website indicating that Deathstroke will be playable in the new game in some capacity. Can we expect to play as Deathstroke similarly to Catwoman in Arkham City or will his presence only be seen in the recently rumoured multiplayer mode that is being implemented? If we were to guess, it would be the latter.
Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal after being given the torch from Rocksteady to develop the next game in the Arkham series. It hits stores October 25th on all current platforms and PC.
