Halo Week: Drop Shock Kicks Off

Week of Halo-centric Events

Microsoft has announced that a week of Halo-specific events has kicked off today.

Entitled Halo Week: Drop Shock, the day-by-day for the week looks like this:-

Monday, April 8th - The Castle Map Pack launches on Xbox Live, which includes three "medium-to-large" maps which focus more on vehicle combat over large open spaces than close-quarters gunplay. The "Competitive Skill Rank" system also launches. The top 50 players who reach a CSR level of 35 while playing the Castle Team DLC playlist during the week will get an exclusive Avatar t-shirt.

Tuesday, April 9th - The Halo 4 Original Soundtrack: Volume 2 is released. This 20-track set will be available digitally from www.halo4soundtrack.com, and will include a new version of "Never Forget" from Halo 3.

Wednesday, April 10th - Extra XP Challenges kick off. There will be 14 daily challenges and 6 weekly challenges (which, we assume, kick off on Monday.) Extra XP can be picked up by competing in any Halo 4 modes online during the week.

Thursday, April 11th - Players who complete 5 Spartan Ops missions on this day will get an exclusive Avatar t-shirt.

Friday, April 12th - Halo 4 24-hour DLC sale. On this day, you'll be able to pick up the Halo 4 War Games Map Pass for 1600 MSP (down from 2000 MSP), the Crimson Map Pack for 600 MSP (down from 800 MSP) and the Majestic Map Pack for 600 MSP (down from 800 MSP).

Its good to see that Microsoft are still supporting the Halo community with events like this, and cheaper DLC is always welcome, right?

That sounds really cool. I don't have any Halo games except Reach just because it came with my system like a year and a half ago though.
