Platforming, platforming and platforming, oh my.

Wednesday's up, and that means Xbox Live Arcade release day. This week, the neon and retro-infused platform stylings of Alien Spidy hit the shelves, alongside the slightly more modern-looking platform stylings of Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.

Alien Spidy (800 MSP)
Spidy has lost contact with his explorer friend Virgi, and finds himself crash-landed on Earth. Your task is to find the missing pieces from his spacecraft, his friend Virgi, and get back to their home planet. The game looks almost Tron-like in terms of visual styling, and could be a bit of a sleeper hit if the gameplay hits the right buttons.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (1,200 MSP)
The two sisters that were originally in the 8-bit Mario rip-off The Great Giana Sisters make a return in a slightly more honest way, with a platform puzzler that looks like it could fit the bill. At 1,200MSP, the gameplay will have to be on the money, but previews have been impressive.
