Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect Launches

Glides onto XBLA

Red Bull Media House has launched their new budget Xbox Live Arcade game this morning.

Entitled Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect, the game aims to replicate the real life Red Bull Crashed Ice event - which is also the Official Ice Cross Downhill World Championship, of course - without you needing to break any bones, or even go outside in sub-zero temperatures.

The sport of Ice Cross is essentially an on-ice version of motocross racing, with competitors needing to negotiate the declines, inclines, sharp corners, and jumps - all the while approaching speeds of up to 40mph. Ultra-competitive final rounds that put four (or more!) players on the track at a time make the sport attractive as a videogame proposition.

Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect supports two players, and they'll be required to take part in events in six different locations around the world, including Quebec City, Montreal, which is the real-world location for the 2012/2013 Ice Cross season. The game is developed by Bongfish, the studio behind the snowboarding title Stoked - and is available on Xbox Live Arcade now for 400 MSP. We'll bring you a full review soon.
