First Kinect Star Wars Details Do the Kessel Run

Very quickly, too
We're just hours away from Microsoft's big E3 show, and one of the biggest titles on display is bound to be Kinect Star Wars. Well, Entertainment Weekly has just gone live with the first preview of the game, announcing brand new information about the Force-powered game.
The story mode will be titled "Jedi Destiny", and takes place between Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, though you'll also visit some areas from the original trilogy.
Gameplay-wise, it sounds as if the controls will combine 1:1 tracking and gesture-based gameplay, as lead producer Craig Derrick explains:
If I am doing these actions, and if I am seeing the character on screen repeating those actions, I want to look bad-ass. We decided to augment the animation, so when I sweep my hand right to left with my lightsaber, it’s going to look cool. That was a major challenge and it works.
Aside from lightsaber battles, Force powers are in too, letting you throw objects around — even using two hands if they're particularly heavy — or even use your voice for some elements, though there's no word on what these will be. Vehicle sub-levels will be in too, from Episode I pod racing to blasting way from inside an X-Wing, bringing a bit of variety to proceedings. Two-player co-operative play is confirmed too.
We'll see plenty more of Kinect Star Wars later today at Microsoft's E3 press conference, so keep it locked on KINECTaku.
