Ubisoft Takes the Third-Party Kinect Crown

But is it the best of a bad bunch?
While third-party support for Kinect may be a little slow to get going, Ubisoft has grabbed the technology with both hands and bolted away with it, selling more units on the sensor than any other third-party company.
With its first three titles – the good Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, the mediocre MotionSports and the less-said-the-better Fighters Uncaged – the publisher has grabbed 20% of the market share in the few months the sensor has been on sale.
Ubisoft’s chief marketing and sales officer Geoffroy Sardin is pleased with the company's performance so far:
We are just behind Microsoft, and the difference between us and third place is huge. It is in our DNA at Ubisoft to be the first and best on new technology. In 2008 we were already working with PrimeSense – the technology used by Microsoft on its 3D camera – even before Xbox acquired the technology. So this gave us a definitive competitive advantage on the platform.
It seems having experience with the technology has paid off for the publisher, and with the superb-looking Child of Eden on the way soon, as well as Michael Jackson: The Experience, it doesn't look like Ubisoft will lose its third-party lead any time soon.
