Sense Kinect Star Wars' Christmas Presents in 2011

Dark Christmas next year

When the Kinect Star Wars trailer was shown at E3 2010, it provided a glimpse of what's in store for gamers who are partial to a bit of lightsaber-waving. It's still launching in 2011 and Kinect's creative director, Kudo Tsunoda, has confirmed to BBC Newsbeat that a Christmas 2011 release is on the cards.

We have a Kinect Star Wars game coming out for next holiday [Christmas 2011]. I think you could just easily imagine being a Jedi and using Kinect to make you feel you're part of a Star Wars experience, building yourself up into a Jedi.

From the E3 trailer, it seems Kinect Star Wars will be an on-rails style of game with players focussed on wielding the lightsaber and possibly the telekinetic use of the Force. Given Microsoft's unique take on motion controls, the idea of a Star Wars game that utilises the Kinect peripheral looks and sounds promising.

I am a little skeptical; why hasn't this been done on the Wii yet anyway?
