@SuperKMx@Captain_Chao5 I haven't yet, unfortunately. When I realized that I was a bit too overrun with games to take on something new, I took the money that I was going to spend on ScreamRide and pre-ordered a Shovel Knight plush instead. But I do intend to give it a download as soon as I have a free weekend. I absolutely loved the demo, which was a complete shock considering I initially had zero interest in the game.
I'm just stopping in to say that I fired it up to try to 100% complete a few more challenges today. Got stuck on one Demolition Expert challenge halfway through the game that I spent the better part of 2 hours to beat. Time just flew by. And I STILL didn't get the required number of points.
@SuperKMx & @Captain_Chao5 — I'm joining you fellas on the leaderboards. Well, I um... I'm not beating your scores or anything, but I'm on the leaderboards. That counts for something, right?
Is it worth getting this game? Whats the consensus of the community?
I've only logged about two hours, but I'm liking it so far. While I'm not sure it's a game that I'd demand that someone plays, I would say it's definitely satisfying enough to buy if you're attracted to the concept. Destroying stuff is a nice stress reliever.
I find it's a good game to pick up and play. You can play for a few minutes or a few hours. Each level is relatively short, but curiously addictive, especially now there are a few more friends on the scoreboard. The need to retry a level to get a few more 'screams' and beat a friends score is almost compulsory. I've barely touched the sandbox mode, which I thought would be my favourite part (and may still be once I get started).
As DRL mentions - there is something very satisfying about blowing stuff up. If you ever played (and liked) the version of Burnout where you had to crash and cause as much damage as possible, you'll like this.
I'm up to 100% complete on the first five areas. Has taken AGES but only the last area to go. I reckon it'll take a heck of a long time to beat the last set - the challenges are pretty tough!

I'm finding it really hard to earn all stars on the earlier challenges! I can't imagine how tough it'll be to 100% the game. Seriously.

Honestly, some of the earlier ones took a couple hours apiece. Especially on demolition. The ScreamRider ones I can do pretty easily, and construction is my jam in this game so those are easy enough, but some of those demolition ones are just infuriatingly tricky. On "Elevated Destruction" on the second area, you have to blow up a blimp. I must have spent 3 hours trying to even get anywhere near it, then just randomly hit it.
I swore I was never going to be able to do it. Even left it and came back to it a few times.

Have you managed to hit a helicopter yet? I've got the boat and blimp, but them helos are SO damn fast.
You don't stop gaming because you get old, you get old because you stop gaming.
