So the Scorpio is roughly equivalent to a PC running with a Titan card then? They cost a small fortune! My gfx card is second from bottom lol - but it runs Forza Apex beautifully, not sure how it would run FH3...

@stylon: Yeah. 18 months is a while. It took less than that for kinect to get killed off. lol. I'm done with the gaming PC thing. Every new game needing £s in upgrades to get the best from it. With all this Xbox/PC cross gaming I just wonder what will happen to the current 25% price difference on new games. Maybe I'm being cynical and as mentioned Ive not yet viewed E3. Ive not looked at Sony's plans but I'm not going to throw money at MS without some consideration of others next time.

You don't stop gaming because you get old, you get old because you stop gaming.

@stylon: The Titan is very expensive but the new wave of GPU's are not. The GTX 1070 for example is around £375 (RRP) and offer a better gaming performance - even the GTX1080 is cheaper than a Titan too at around £529 (unless you go for the Founders edition of both. Whilst its not on the list, the new AMD RX480 should be about £160-180 and offers about 5.5tflops but 2 in SLI (around £360) actually outperform the £529 GTX 1080. It seems the new 14/16nm improvements to architecture, lower costs, increased efficiency etc are making a big difference to performance. What the chart shows though is that no GPU can handle 4k/60fps unless you turn the settings down but all should more than adequately cope with 1440p. However if you are running at 1440p, you might as well go for the cheaper 1070 from this chart...

Anyway its getting a bit off topic but this shows roughly where the Scorpio would fit in and what its performance is most likely to be in multi-platform games. Like I said though, in theory you could hit 4k/60 but would require compromising on the graphical settings - like lighting, shadows etc. Maybe new engines can be more effective at producing those levels without draining resources but as it stands at the moment and based on already developed games you can see the level of performance based on power. The 1080 is 50% more powerful than the Scorpio (9tflops compared to 6)

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

I am using PlayStation but the Xbox project Scorpio will have the same power as the PlayStation will be the best 4K gaming around.
