Just sold my Wii U after the death knell for Nintendo which was E3 (the sale of said Wii U causing great butthurt among the denizens of Nintendo Life) and ordered the X1 from Microsoft which I got The Witcher 3 with for free, but it also comes with $50 Microsoft credit.

I was wondering what game people would recommend with the credit? Dragon Age: Inquisition looks pretty good to me. Wouldn't mind checking out Dead Rising 3 or Titanfall either...

I had Dark Souls 2 on the 360 when I lived back in England. I'd consider getting it again, especially with the Scholar of the First Sin DLC, but I'd wait until it's on sale again.

Looking forward to the third installment!

Haha, I don't think I would've announced getting rid of the Wii U on Nintendo Life, but anyway... My two favorite Xbox One games are Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive. Traded my Wii U actually for an X1 just to play those games last year and I haven't regretted the decision for a second. If you like open world games both are well worth it. Sunset is like a mix of Crackdown, inFamous, Prototype and to some degree Ratchet & Clank (it is by the guys who made R&C afterall). Forza Horizon 2 is just blast. Lots of different event types from regular street races to offroad. There's extra challenges, some show case events. If you like arcade racers, don't miss FH 2.

I can also say, Dead Rising 3 is one of the best games I've played. I liked 1, thought 2 was ok, but Capcom really perfected the formula with 3. It liked crafting new weapons and vehicles just to go through hordes of zombies.

Dead Rising 3, Titanfall are both good calls. I'd recommend looking at the EA Access program, its £20 a year (here) and gives you access to a lot of EA games, including Titanfall! You can't go wrong with Dragon age either, Batman is awesome, Destiny is worth a punt but I'd wait for the super duper edition that contains the upcoming expansion, FH 2 is a very good call, The Handsome Collection is brilliant if you like Borderlands...Or save the money until Gears, Fallout 4 et al are released later in the year!

My recommendations would really depend on what games you enjoy playing.

Halo Collection has a LOT of content - all 4 main Halo games although I do think they are showing their age in places. Titanfall was good fun initially and can still be good fun with friends but lacks campaign (of note) and variety although has more now than launch. A couple of good Horror games are Alien Isolation and the Evil Within. Tomb Raider is a good game and with 'Rise ot TR' coming out in Nov, it could be worth getting now. Batman Arkham Knight though would probably be my biggest recommendation - The reason I bought a Gen 8 console was for this game (and secondarily the Witcher 3)

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

I would also recommend Alien Isolation, Halo MCC and Batman, all are brilliant games and as @BAMozzy says there is so much content in Halo you can't go wrong (unless you don't like Halo that is )

It depends on your play style. If you like MP games - Titanfall is very good. If you are more a 'lone ranger', then I recommend Batman: Arkham Knight. It came out yesterday and I spent 10 hours playing it without scratching the surface. The predecessor - Arkham City - was easily my favourite Xbox 360 game, so I know I'll be playing this for a good while.
The Witcher 3 is also amazing. Having never played any in the series, I was very impressed.

You don't stop gaming because you get old, you get old because you stop gaming.

I'd recommend Dark Souls 2 if you're in the mood for a challenge, or Sunset Overdrive or Dead Rising 3.

I'd highly recommend Dead Rising 3. I've argued for a long time that whilst it's not a better game than GTA V I certainly had more fun playing it. Capcom do a fantastic job of creating a game you just want to keep playing because of the weapons and vehicles.
