ARCADE-Family Type of charades game where you use your hand to draw on the tv screen using either paint or (steam screen) and compete between teams, possible split screen.
Xbox Live Avatar Baseball....worked nice with the Wii, it will work great with Kinect.
Xbox Live Avatar WHEEL OF FORTUNE. One person gets to be "Vanna White"
Incorporate the Kinect technology of moving into a games like, Fight night. It would be a great workout and, you get a chance to play a more realistic version of Tyson/Ali on screen in 3rd person view.
Incorporate the Kinect technology of moving into a games like karaoke/rock band, My friends and i love Rock band but where are the original artists on screen?? Who doe's not want to be the real deal on scree? We all love artist's and athletes and lets face it, we all wish we were them. Who would not love to have a karoke game such as, and jump on stage, holding the mic and point it at the screen so that the the fans singer scream the chorus of the song, Moving on stage as the lead singer of Linkin Park, Billy idol, Michael Jackson, Pink , Enrique Iglesias yeah i said it, i like his music too LOL etc.
I'd like to echo the Martial Arts suggestion, my 7 year old son is taking Tae Kwon Do, and this evening for family night we watched the new Karate Kid. It was all we could do to keep the kid sitting to watch the movie. Frankly, I'm not to certain how much of a fun game it could be, and martial art elitist will no doubt rail at the idea of an automated instruction environment. However, when I consider the effect of having a Kinect enabled interface demonstrating and critiquing movements, the effect could be astounding for a youngster wanting to learn something like that. While there is no substitute for the actual contact of sparring and the lesson of the reality of getting hit... learning the coordination of doing the movements and knowing the forms would be invaluable for a growing child. I'm not sure it should be a multiplayer experience though... something tells me a split screen isn't going to cut it while a couple yahoos romp it out Street Fighter style!
What about Dragons Lair or Space Ace... they have it for Iphone with the gesture control, so it can't be that much more difficult to port them over...
Or King's Quest remakes, I know the last one I played was all mouse click... click the highlighted section. or maybe that was Space Quest... but still the same concept.
New and much needed Microsoft Xbox mascot and game icon.
His name is X (resembling the new movie Paul) He is and alien avatar much like the ones you and i create as ourselves except his head is the xbox live logo sphere with the X in glowing green. He crashed into earth and his space ship hits a large power line tower where the electricity sucks him and his spaceship through the regions electrical power lines and into your home onto your Xbox 360.
Title: Alien Avatar the board game. Genre: Board game. Premise: Reach the alien ship before X does.
Its up to your Avatar to reach the spaceship before X doe's or he will destroy your xbox 360 mother board.
Virtual dice are used as the player moves forward that many spaces. Each land zone is a challenge that he/she must accept and compete against X.
Challenges (mini games) vary from, balancing across inner parts of your Xbox while dodging electrical surges, ray guns, climbing resistors, running, balancing over electrical wires, hoping, etc etc. Losing a challenge to X will have its consequences.
The future lies in your hand, win or your xbox is doomed! And wii know that wii sucks.
How about an 2D on-rails platforming game where you have to jump, duck, and move back and forth between different "layers" to advoid hazards? That would be quite intense!
I'd love something like that too -- a Kinect Pitfall where you run in place to move, jump over obstacles, and swing your arm to use the whip.
It's astounding to me that simple exergames like this haven't been done yet.
I'm with Lanafire7. Definitely Raving Rabbids, the whole suite and all future releases. I will so definitely buy Raving Rabbids on the Kinect if it comes out. Who seconds that?
First person type RPGs would be brilliant on the Kinect. Perhaps like a detective game.
I think a detective game could work well on Kinect too -- something a bit like Heavy Rain, a mixture of action and mystery, could go down a treat. Kinect Sherlock Holmes, we need you!
@slapshot82: Yeah, Dragon Quest Swords would be awesome on Kinect! I'm waiting for a classic J-RPG to appear on Kinect. I think both turn based and real time hack-n-slash battles could work well.
@James Newton: Do keep us posted of any detective style games... or maybe an epic room/castle escape games, kinect style.

Agreed as well, La Noire would have been a great Kinect game. Ability to lift the victim's arm to look for clues, tilt the head left and right, hold evidence with the left hand and use your right hand to dust for finger prints...I am loving it! a Detective Kinect game must come.
I think the Kinect is in need of a type of Silent hill/Alan wake styled game, where you can explore the surroundings looking for clues/ puzzles and can use one hand for torch or gun maybe. The body could be used to duck, run, look up or down and step to walk maybe have cut scenes to grab, swing, be chased or tiptoe around enemy's, looking forward to seeing what Rise of Nightmares has to offer! Maybe a indiana jones or Broken sword game with above physics used would work too?
Tempest 2000 / Typhoon 2001 I was revisiting an old game for the PC (Typhoon 2001) that was a remake of an even older game (Tempest 2000) for the Atari Jaguar and Sony Playstation 1 which is a remake of an even older game, Tempest by Atari. For those that don't know Tempest 2000, it was a remake of the old Atari game, Tempest.
And it's so beautiful on the PC at full 1920x1080 graphics and 100+fps...
But what struck me was how it'd be perfect for the Kinect. It's just as beautiful as Child of Eden with even simpler game mechanics. All you have to do is scroll the claw left and right, have a jump feature, and a special attack feature.
Here's a sample video (sorry for the poor quality, it was recorded with a screen capture program and on top of that, Youtube compressed the heck out of it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti2_CCvu0Yw
The video isn't that exciting because it's just the first couple of levels which were easy enough to get you to learn the game strategy and mechanics. In the higher levels, things get super intense.
And for those that want to try out the game, it's available for Linux and Windows platforms at: http://typhoon.kuto.de/
I played for a couple hours with my Microsoft trackball. Just awesome. All I did was dial up the mouse sensitivity and it had pinpoint accuracy.
Now that is a great idea. I used to love a bit of Tempest back on the Saturn/Jaguar and I think with Kinect controls this could be a big hit. You could jump to get off the wire, wave your arms to aim and make animal noises to activate power-ups. Let's hope Jeff Minter takes heed!
Hi there first post . For me, to make that killer kinect app to kick off a whole line of games (and possibly genre), it has to be something new and interesting which a kinect user can boast about. It can't be ''yeah its cool but this game would be better with a controller''. Thats why project Draco interest me the most, the possibilities if they incopperate a sandbox feature.
Also, i think i read this futher back, a sort of botanical garden/land which you create. Think animal crossing meets, viva pinate meets the sims and your somewhat there XD. It would have to be in a first persons perspective, HD real world graphics so not cartoony, day and night features and complete customisation, and of course xbox live to vist your friends 'little bit of heaven'.
Hmmm actually perhaps even The Sims might do well in Kinect. Imagine doing everything with your avatar in first person. Or controlling people with your arms and simple gestures.
