I got a 20GB Premium 5 years ago, but eventually that got the RROD 2 years later, so I got myself a 60GB Premium, and then sold that to a mate last year as I moved in with my Fiancee, and I had bought her a 120GB Elite for Christmas 2009.Then my Profile got Corrupted last year, so we traded it under it's warranty at Game for a 250GB Slim, then as I was about to play a few games of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit last year, the Tray got stuck as I was ejecting it so GAME let us change it for another Slim, so that's been 5 Xboxes overall.

So far I am still on Xbox 360 number one.  I got it back in December 2008 for a Christmas gift for my son.  I will be picking up a second one though when the Star Wars Special edition one comes out.

I've had 3 and I thought that was unlucky...

Had my 20gb launch console till 2008, it RROD'd - I managed to keep it alive with the 'towel-trick' for awhile though!

Then I bought a second-hand console to replace it, seemed like the cheapest option, bad idea as that broke about a year later.

Then I gave in and bought a brand new Elite. I've heard they're better designed and so less likely to break, however my brother's Elite did break recently so fingers crossed mine won't!

Feel free to add me :) :

Oooh...yes, @unknownseven, I'm struggling with the decision as to whether buy the Star Wars edition console.

Got our (my wife and I) first Xbox 360 December 2009 for Christmas. (Now sold)
Then 4GB Xbox + Kinect last year. (Sold it)
Currently: 2 x Xbox's in the house. One in the living room for Kinect with space, and the other in the "entertainment" room next to the PS3 and Wii.

I'm one of the lucky ones... I've only had 2 systems.

Had a 120GB Elite that never died, I just decided to upgrade a an Xbox 360 S as I'm a sucker for the latest and greatest tech.

I have two.  The first one I got in December 2008 which was the pro set I think it was called, it was the middle one.  And than last year I got the Star Wars Special Edition one.

Never had a problem with them except a few months ago the first 360 started to have problems with the disc tray, problems with it not closing or opening so I swapped it out with the Star Wars one for my everyday machine.  My first Xbox is now in the front room but it is only used for Netflix.

2, my older cousin's Halo: CE Xbox, & my new 250 GB Xbox 360 S console. Like my gold Zelda Wii Remote Plus, my Xbox 360 has a flame red Xbox controller w/ a transforming d-pad.

Picked up a Premium on launch day, which never died. Traded that against a Elite, which died about a year in. Got a replacement, and sold that when my 120GB S turned up.

So...number 4 over here.

Vincent - I'm planning on picking up a flame red controller, too. I've got the silver one with the transforming d-pad at the minute and it squeaks!

KenB - They're awesome. I love using them. The d-pad still isn't perfect, but it's a step in the right direction. It looks really nice, but like my 3DS it needs to be polished regularly because this grimy dark stuff forms where your hands touched. It looks amazing, works great, and is my prize controller. I got my 3DS at launch hoping the flame red prototype would be available, but it wasn't until months after, so my flame red Xbox controller sort of made up for it. Flame red electronics look so bada**. They're some sort of fiery shade of red that radiates this divine glow.

I tell you - if someone could find a way of preventing that from happening, they'd be a multi-millionaire. *Runs off to the lab* smile

I had a console since launch day that I had for 4 years but then I decided I just wanted to upgrade to one of the newer slim models so I sold that one and bought a new one. Never had any problems with either not working. So, I guess total number is 2.

I did that with my first PS2, so you're in good company. As it fell, I reached out and tried to grab it, knocking a full bottle of Pepsi all over it too. smile

Subconciously, I think I wanted it to die. smile

I stepped on one of my PS2 slim models before, which caused the multitap to break off in the controller ports so from that point on I couldn't use my PS2 without the multitap.

I've never gotten a system more than once, but before I got my 3DS, my DSi had terrible L / R buttons. After a little less than a year, they started to have slightly inconsistent results. By the time I got my 3DS, there was a 2 / 3 chance they'd work, and if you held it, it would stop registering the press after a few seconds. Not good in a hard game if you know what I mean.

Ha! The front of the 3DS is covered in a fingerprint resistant coating, but the inside w/ the buttons most definitely isn't. Why Nintendo? You guys forgot the part w/ the most fingerprints.

I've had about 2 Xbox 360's. Technically, the first one was a family console meaning it didn't really belong to one person. However, it was the awesome looking Halo 3 Edition Xbox, but it had trouble reading discs a few years ago. And I had the New Xbox with 250 GB of storage, but someone stole it a few months ago. It's not very dreadful though, cause I only had a couple of games for it.

Ironically, only the console was stolen while it was in my room stowed in the closet...and I had valuables and my laptop all over my room...

Just one. In fact, I've only ever had to replace one console, and it was my Gamecube.

Somehow my Dreamcast survived being dropped down a flight of stairs and landing in a puddle of water. Amazing little console.

You can say that again. My launch Dreamcast has survived all sorts of adverse conditions, including being kept in a damp garage for a year, and falling off a 5ft-high shelf at least twice. Still works beautifully.

They don't make 'em like that anymore!
