Topic: Halo MCC single player mode mandatory update?

I am thinking about buying Halo MCC if I decide to get a XBO but have read where it requires a 20GB update.

Is this 20GB update required prior to playing the single player campaign of the game or just the multiplayer portion?

Someone may correct me but I believe it to be a day one patch so yes, it is required to play the SP, even although I'm pretty sure the patch is the MP component. It may allow you to play whilst it's downloading, I can't remember.

Well I rolled the dice and purchased the Halo MCC. The game will allow you to play the single player campaigns without installing the 20gb update IF you set your network to offline mode. Now whether I hit any glitches along the way is whole other story so we shall see. Thanks for your help fine sir.

No problem, I wasn't any help whatsoever. I guess playing offline is kind of the same as playing whilst it's downloading 😉😉
