@TwilightAngel: I have to disagree with you there.
Ending reminds me alot of Halo 2, there is so much more to come

I haven't played the game so I can't say how I feel about the story or the ending, but everything from the trailers and tumblr podcasts make me believe this is only the start of a new trilogy. So if the ending feels a little lackluster it's probably because they're setting everything up for a new chapter in MC's story. And that really cool trailer with MC walking through an ice planet with a cloak? Just because it's not in this game doesn't mean that it can't be part of the overall story and something that happens in part 2 or 3. I think Bonnie Ross is great for Halo and I'm excited by 343 studios because I love Halo 4.
Valkyrie 2, standing by.

@Utena-mobile: Exactly how I feel. Like a cliffhanger at the end of a TV shows season, it's a necessary part of the experience. That trailer of Chief was a teaser, it meant and promised nothing, except to announce Halo 5 was in development

Which is kind of fun in its own way. Nintendo does that a lot with Zelda. They release trailers with content that never ends up in the game. But I don't think that's the case with this one. Bonnie Ross seems to be thinking very long-term with Halo, so I'm pretty sure that the teaser is hinting at something big.
all this Halo talk makes me want the game more. I wonder if I can sell blood or rake leaves to make some extra money. (T-T )

@A_BabyRed_Yoshi: That was the worst part. The ending is like Halo 2 a cliff hanger! And if you're not caught up with the lore of Halo, then the story will be disappointing. I'm disappointed cause they hyped up the game with those ads. A Chief vs Locke fight (We got it,but 2minutes really?)and an ending that will shock us all well at least me. So for me they pulled a Ubisoft showing off trailers that barley relate to the game itself. Still the game is great got to give credit where credit is due.

I believe 343 has the next 20 years of Halo planned out, who knows how many of them currently at the studio will still be there or if it will even still be around? That does prove right the theory though that the thinking is long-term. I just hope they get more to the point with some future games. I do think it's possible to give one game real closure while still setting up the next. Cliffhangers like Halo 2 are a cop out and I'm not at the end of Halo 5 yet so I can't comment on that but if it's as bad a cliffhanger as that, that's pretty disappointing.

@A_BabyRed_Yoshi I'm currently fighting the Warden where he splits in to three and have killed two of them. The difficulty is off the scale! I will beat him though.

@crippyd: yeah, definitely the hardest part!
I used an incinerator cannon charge blast, then scattershot with scopes his back orb
Still took forever though

@A_BabyRed_Yoshi the bit I'm finding hard is the laser cannons on the walls as when I try to shoot the Warden I just get killed by them or I can take out one or two of the cannons and he just smashes me to bits.

@crippyd: are you talking about the boss fight with the warden where he keeps sending copies of himself? I'm not sure I'm the best to hear advice from (since I kept dying and was on "normal"), but I finally got him by ordering my squad to target him one at a time, while I ran around in a large circle, shooting his head with the promethean sniper rifle. Took awhile, but once they started dying I was able to keep the upper hand for the rest of the match.

@Utena-mobile its the fight on level 14 (the second last level) and he just splits in 3 after a verbal fight with Cortana.

@crippyd: best bet for that section is to equip the other Spartans with laser cannons (there should be some on the left wall of the room). Stay on that left platform and try to attract one of the Wardens over. When he lunges at you dodge to your right. Try and get the warden in between you and your squad. If he's following you back away and get the other Spartans to shoot him in the back with the cannons. They should make short work of him. Rinse and repeat for the second warden. The turrets will spawn for the third and final warden, so shelter behind the platform to the left of the entrance (between the entrance door and the area I mentioned above where you can get the laser cannons). Circle the warden, again dodging to your right as he lunges, and let your squad shoot him in the back. Hopefully they'll be near enough cover that they won't get totally blasted by the cannons.

@ChopperCampbell Thanks for the tips, I'll try to get to the cover and guns you mention. I hit a check point so there is only the last Warden to go. I have tried this fight about a hundred times and it is really getting me down now!

@crippyd: is this the first time you're playing through Halo 5? I don't want to talk about spoilers if there's a chance it can ruin the story for you?
btw, What do you think about it so far? (^_^ )
55. Posted: Tue 7th Jun 2016 17:28 BST
@Utena-mobile Nah, I've finished it on Heroic about 2 weeks after launch just with all the other games I have and my limited game time (plus Dark Souls!!) I just haven't got round to finishing it up.
I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to where the series is going. It was a good ending for the start of a series. Also think you'll be ok with spoilers now as its been out quite a while.
56. Posted: Tue 7th Jun 2016 17:57 BST
ok. good. because I wanted to talk about something story related that seems to have divided Halo fans. Also, sorry for the long text. I've been wanting to say this for a long time.
So, I just recently beat Halo 5 and I love it. Considering how new I am to the series, I feel like I'm in a room full of cookies and I just want to read and play (eat?) more Halo and talk to every one about Halo right now. But I keep getting very similar reactions by certain people who didn't like the story, and that is (mainly) 343 studio's decision to use Cortana as the villain for the new trilogy. They ruined her character, she's a good guy, she's helping us with our phones and our laptops, why would 343 studio change all of that good will in order to make her want to take over the galaxy? It sounds too much like the sensationalist, gimicky plot decisions that plague comic books all the time.
But!!! I don't think that's what has happened here, and I have a small theory that 343 knows what we're doing, and they haven't used Cortana that way. Ready? Cortana in Halo 5 is not Cortana. dun dun duuuuuun!!! Let me explain. So in 4, there's a cutscene where Cortana explains what rampancy is. Essentially, after a certain number of years, an A.I.'s neural network starts to fragment in its decision making abilities correlated to the amount of information that A.I. has accumulated. As Cortana puts it, it's like having tons of voices all fighting for attention while she tries to make sense of what she knows and what is going on. What's happening is her persona is splitting and duplicating and being corrupted, over and over and over. She's getting multiple personalities.
We see as much when she overloads the composer by allowing all those personas to become actual Cortanas and give them free reign of the composer's network system at the end of 4. But the "real" Cortana? Or at least the "original" Cortana? She's the one we say goodbye to in that final cutscene, where she protects Chief from the composer exploding. She sends Chief back, but refuses to follow because she doesn't have enough left in her to return. But that would apply to not just Cortana but all of her copies. And we know that isn't true because Cortana is back in 5.
So, I believe that evil Cortana is actually one of her copies that was able to come back. She's the one that is trying to take the Mantle of Responsibility, and while she shares the same memories and thought patterns as the original Cortana, is technically not the dominant Persona that helped Chief save the galaxy. But since real Cortana can also do the same things evil Cortana can, I believe the real Cortana will appear in either Halo 6 or 7 to team up with Chief again and together they will fight the evil Cortana...

@Utena-mobile you've given that a lot of thought 😊 I'll be honest I haven't given it too much thought but you could be on to something. After reading your post I think it'll turn out more that the original Cortana is a prisoner somewhere and Chief will have to bust her out of her digital prison.

@crippyd: imprisoned by evil Cortana! but yeah, considering how Cortana will soon be helping us with our Xbox commands, I highly doubt 343 would have been ok with her being the Villain of the new trilogy. It's a bad image when your personal assistant wants to take over the galaxy and enslave all sentient life.
@sorethumbed: And better for cosplay!!
