I definitely need to start battering Crota, I haven't got any weapons or armour from it yet (only 2 incomplete runs, so it's not that surprising).

Yep, I am, and Fatebringer too (though I did get Gjallarhorn last night, don't know if I mentioned that).
I've got one more run possible on the HM VoG this week, domesticity permitting, though I'm not as widely available (or useful!) as Bam, only 10PM GMT or later, as a rule. Still, I'd like to get that 3rd run in.

The Glasshouse is a good Exotic for defender Titans and the stat roll is very high too. The hunter Gauntlets have limited but can be fun use and the Warlock gauntlets are not bad but both have better exotic options. Plan C is also a very good Fusion although I do expect many people would have it by now. Apart from Ruin Wings, there isn't any Gauntlets that I would consider over most of the other exotics available so the engram isn't that enticing.
As for upgrdes, Xur has a few greats here - Icebreaker, Suros, Thorn and Mida. Hard Light seems quite elusive so the opportunity to upgrade it for those that still have the old version is probably quite welcome. Achlyophage and Crest of Alpha Lupi have good stats this week too. Insurmountable Skullfort is good for CE Hard Raid so worth upgrading for that.
As you continue to collect Exotics, Xur becomes less relevant. If you have all the Exotics - particularly upgraded, then he has basically nothing to offer you - especially without Heavy Ammo Synthesis. I am sure to some though, he may have 'something' of interest this week.

That'll be me buying my body weight in heavy ammo synths, then, then I can stock each character and won't realise (as I did the other night) when I get to Crota that I've forgotten to take them out of the vault... fool!
