Topic: Special Orders - Where has Tess gone?

If you haven't already noticed Tess the special orders vendor has been removed from the Tower. Nobody quite knows why but she has been replaced by a terminal. The location of this terminal is next to Eva Levante in the North Tower (across from the Speaker). For those that unlock the Year One Triumphs emblem this is where it will drop.

I heard she embezzled a load of money from the Speaker and shes now on the run.

It seems 'terminals' are going to be very prominent in the Taken King! At least it will free up a lot of my Vault Space (the miscellaneous stuff - like Shaders, ships etc..). Still disappointed that a lot of my yr1 items are going to be (almost) redundant in year 2!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

Well we know why now...

Tess is returning with Emotes for sale. However these Emotes can only be purchased by a new currency called 'Silver'. Silver can only be obtained by buying it from the XBL store (although I believe existing players will be given some Silver as a reward).

I really don't agree with Micro-Transactions in general although I do find that purely cosmetic items such as Emotes or camo's are 'just about' acceptable as they have no impact in the actual game in terms of performance. Even though these are purely cosmetic, I do fear that other 'cosmetic' items (shaders, emblems, ships) or worse, gear (Weapons, Armour, ghosts) etc, could be sold in the future and we see less and less of these in the actual 'paid for' content.

I know a lot of people felt the Mass Effect 3 micro-transaction model was 'relatively' good but the packages could also be bought with in-game currency too. I would be happier to see that 'Silver' could also be purchased with in-game currency like Glimmer, resources (Spin Metal, Spirit Bloom etc) etc too. Even if the 'cost' is high - for example more than 25,000 glimmer, so you can pay in instalments. You have the option to unlock all quickly with real cash or play the game and unlock over a longer time but its still obtainable for everyone.

For me, as long as it has no effect on gameplay, I have no issue. If it does it just wrecks the game. The thing I DO really like about destiny is that you can only equip one exotic weapon and armour. Buying your way in would make a difference, but it won't be a gamebreaker.

Ancient, Angry, Armed and Inbound.

Yeah, I'm with Sore here...I'm all for silly things being microtransactions, but not something that will fundamentally change the game (Weapons, armour and the like)
