During my morning coffee browse of the internet I noted this video via Polygon. This is the first comparison between Dinklage and North and it's interesting to note the differences. Though dry and bored, Dinklage's Ghost has charm and his delivery of certain lines, such as "No! No! No!" and "Don't do that!" are, in my opinion, better than North's.
With The Taken King dropping in less than 7 days North may have already been patched in via the 17GB download. So...farewell Dinklebot, I never realised how much I would miss you until you were almost gone.
Personally I prefer Dinklebot. I know his delivery was somewhat ridiculed but I think it suited the 'Ghost' far better than North's delivery. The way certain lines were delivered - 'We've woken the Hive' for example, just doesn't sound right with North. It maybe because I am used to Dinklebot but I still think his delivery was better suited to a 'Ghost'

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Agreed, I can't help but feel biased towards Dinklebot so maybe I'm being unfair when I say I prefer him. North is now in Destiny with the 08/09/15 patch so we will have to see. I'm wondering if they've included Ghost dialogue for the DLC?
Like I said I maybe a little biased through familiarity too but it just doesn't sound right or as well suited to the situation/events. I don't like the Becken-stein to Becken- steen change either. I know Dinklebot often delivered his lines as if 'bored'but there is more drad and/or urgency in certain lines too - such as the 'we've woken the Hive' and the surrounded by Vex line. Nolan seems far too 'happy' - as if he is laughing all the way to the bank...

I'm sad that Dinklage has been removed. I was totally fine with his performance. Not at all digging North in the role, to be honest. He may grow on me, but I doubt I'll ever prefer him to Dinklage.
So, I've just finished the story and a portion of the extra content (of which there seems to be loads...5 hours of solid play in!). And I'm starting to like North's lines. Without giving too much away there is a certain point in a mission where the tension is thick and the dialogue with Cayde nervous when North screams "I THINK THEY CAN SEE US!". Perfect delivery.
He's not so happy go lucky in TTK. I think this has something to do with fleshing out of the story. (Yes, there's a story). The janky dialogue from the Vanilla game stands in stark contrast to TTK and fits each situation. He's sincere, happy, nervous sometimes all at the same time but never inappropriately so. North Droid, we salute you.
In fact it shows how bad the writing was in vanilla Destiny that two actors failed to get it right.
I still think Dinklebot's delivery is much more suited to the plot line and history. In the TTK it re-iterates the fact that he (the Ghost) was alone and spent 200yrs looking for his 'Guardian'. Northbots delivery seems too 'C3PO' crossed with Johnny-5...
