Suggestion:
Do you have an Xbox Live connection or a subscription? I think there is also something called your NAT, which closes and you have to open it to get back to multiplayer because your playing with other people. You do that by opening a port on your router/modem. To make it plain & simple call your router/modem company and ask them how to open a port for your Xbox 360.
