i took of the x clamps and put in fresh new thermal compound this worked for about 4 months then i got the red ring again
i have heard that if i heat up my xbox it would work temporarily so i did it about 6 times with no problem it would work for a day or two then now that i reheat the Xbox the red rings come up right away (ps before i would get the red ring of death my Xbox screen would turn all green and i wouldn't be able to play so i would turn it off and the red rings would come up) please i need some thoughts on how i can fix this. i also barely bought a membership and i dont want to waste it

Suggestion:
i advise you take your xbox to a privately owned company who perform red ring fixes. you shouldve sent it to microsoft in the first place but its too late now because you broke the seal.

Worst possible thing to do is to overheat it. The whole reason for the red rings is because microsoft made their product so fast that they forgot about cooling it. If you opened your xbox and voided the warranty I don't know what to tell you. If you didn't I believe you can call up microsoft and the will do it for free for all customers who have red ring xboxes. It was their flaw so they extended the warranty to 4 years.
It seems permanently damaged, get it replaced or repaired at an authorized dealer. If you are referring you your Xbox Live membership then do no worry. The membership is tied to your account not the xbox, getting a new xbox will carry your membership over with your gamer profile.
Good luck. Since you've already tried many of the "tricks" to fix the red ring of death, your Xbox 360 will probably need to be replaced.
