ps I am guessing that the new one they sent me is fine just asking better safe then sorry dont want it to RED RING that would suck
Suggestion:
more than likely they sent you a new one. the best way to check is to see to look at the power cord that connects to the xbox. the connecting part that goes to the back of the xbox(actually touches the xbox) should be plastic not metal. if its plastic it is the "jasper" edition. the chance of getting RRoD is less than 2%. if it isnt plastic then its the old version. if you get the RRoD send it back and raise hell so the dont charge you. If you dont want to do that there is the old towel trick. wrap your xbox in a few towel and turn it on for about 20 mins. you want it to overheat. let it cool for about 10 mins or so and it should work. Its just a temporary fix. RRoD could come back.
