Is It Possible to Fix a Bad Scratch on an Xbox 360 Game?

I have 4 Xbox 360 games that have been scratched. This happened because the Xbox was bumped and it "ate" the disc. It left a circular scratch around the disc on 3 of the games, and a little one, not totally around the disc but somewhat on one. These scratches havn't come out with the toothpaste trick, and I was thinking about getting a fixer kit from gamestop. Would that fix it or not?

Answer:

this happened to me too..that scratch is weirdd..you cant do anything at home to repair it…the wayy i got it fixed is that i went to family video and they have this machine that fixes cds..and it costs $5..but i also heard gamestop has a machine too…so if you do go buy the scratch repair kit.. ask the cashier if they can repair it first..

It depends. Probably not. Your best bet is to take it to someplace that has a shaver machine, and see if they can shave the disc for you. Circular scratches are the hardest to fix, and can only be truly fixed if shaved down (other scratches are easier to fix). Most used game, movie, or music stores, or rental places will have one.
In the future, be sure to put your Xbox in a place where it won't get bumped, and preferably in a horizontal position.

Interestingly enough, XBox has come to recognize this problem with some of their consoles. In some cases, they will replace the damaged disc. On the other hand, I wouldn't volunteer the "I bumped the machine" info. They will blame you for the damage in that scenario. If you damaged three discs by bumping the console, then you shouldn't get too carried away when playing. For God's sake, it's a XBox 360 not a Wii.

If its a surface scratch then the fixer kit would work. If it's a physical circular gouge, then most likely the disk is irreperable. Take it in either way to make sure.

You can get scratch remover at CD selling stores. It comes in a bottle like shoe shiner. LOL.

No, seriously.

Yes it would
