How Can I Get the 3 Red Rings on My Xbox 360?

Basically, my Xbox 360 broke a while ago. It stopped reading discs, but there were no red rings on display. I called Microsoft and they told me my Xbox is just out of warranty, as any issues where there are no red rings are only covered by a 1-year warranty.

However, I'm still within my 3-year red ring warranty, and I want to get my Xbox fixed. If I were to manually give my Xbox the 3 red rings and send it to Microsoft, would they fix the red ring problem AND my disc-reading one? My brother believes that they can't just send it back when it still doesn't read discs, so they'd have to fix that too without question. However I know they can be sneaky, and I'm wondering if they'll ignore the other problem as it's not related. If anyone who's had a similar experience could help me here it would be much appreciated!

If this does work, how do I give my Xbox the 3 red rings?!

Suggestion:

Heat the console up without any ventilation by leaving the power on for a very long time. But be careful not to burn your house down though ok.
