If I Install a Legit Game on Xbox 360 Hardrive, Can I Play Online Using a Copy or Laser Burn Disk?

I've been told that if I install a legit game on my xbox 360 hardrive, then put in a copy of the same game or a laser burn disk then I can still play online and still have achievements without having to flash the xbox at all. Is this true?

Suggestion:

The part about the laser burnt disc is true (I do it with Borderlands) but i am not sure about the copy, because the install data will not begin to be utilized until the xbox checks the disc, so i doubt copied games would work.

yes you can play after install it to your hardrive .. !

and you can play online you just have to put the cd into xbox .. without it you cant .. !

Nope, I believe the disc is scanned to make sure it is legit even thought the games is installed. Microsoft wants there money$$$$$$
