Can You Still Play Xbox 360 Games You Have Copied to Your Hard Drive on the Original Disc?

I've done this with all my games and I am wondering if I should try it with rented games, or will the disc just come up as blank for the next user?

Suggestion:

You need the disc even if you downloaded it to your harddrive.

Well if you install it to your hard drive it basically backs up all the files of the game by copying them for faster gameplay,it doesnt just move the files. And you have to have the disc in in order to play an installed game, otherwise you could just get free games. So yes you can still play games you have installed to your hard drive on other xboxes.

It installs it onto the hard drive. For it to allow you to play, you need to have the same game in the xbox in order for you to play it.
I think there are mods for the 360 that allows you to do this without the dvd, but thoes are illegal.
Also i am not too much into moding 360s
