Xbox 360 Hdd Repair – the Life or Death of Your Game Console

There is a lot that goes on in the hard drive of an Xbox 360, also called the HDD. In here you are able to save music, make customized playlist, save games, go live and download things, and also play games from the old Xbox series. This is only a few things that the hard drive can do, but what if it goes down? How do you actually make an Xbox 360 HDD repair? Every thing that goes on inside this console has to run through the HDD. Not counting the plethora of things already pre-loaded into this sophisticated piece of technology. Things like puzzles and high definition capabilities. So knowing how to do an Xbox 360 HDD repair is of high importance if a problem should arise.

Below are a few things you should know how to do before tackling any problem that could arise with your Xbox 360.

- Attaching the HDD-

Make sure to remove all games from the system and turn it off. Next carefully remove the covering over the hard drive. Be sure to have the smaller end of the hard drive (or the front if you know what it is) pointing the same direction as the console and the wider end should be facing the rear of the system. Take the backside of the HDD and place it on the rear of the cover (also none as the bay). The rear of the HDD should rest under the lip on the bay or cover. All you need to do last is to push down the front of the HDD until you hear a click, but not a crunch.

- Taking out the HDD-

Make sure the power is off and push the tab on the HDD and take it out of the casing.

* Do not touch the connectors on the hard drive with anything, especially with fingers or anything metal.*

Another common error that calls for an Xbox 360 HDD repair is a simple message that says, ” Hard Drive Not a Listed Storage Device.” If this error occurs you could try and turning the power on and off a couple of time to see if that is the problem. Also take a look and make sure the HDD is installed properly and that it is flush or level. Try and take the HDD back out of the console and then put it back, but be sure to turn your system off before doing this. After you have removed the hard drive turn the power back on, then off, and replace the HDD. Finally if that doesn’t work put your hard drive into another Xbox system that way you can try and find out what the problem is.
