The controls are simply the arrow keys; you must take control of a tiny blue elephant and complete the same level many many times over. However, there is a catch. Every level requires something different to pass it. The red button situated in the middle of the level normally plays a key role, however, you must use the riddle hinted to you at the bottom of the screen to figure out what needs to be done.
An example of this could be the riddle that hints at a ‘circular motion’. When I was trying to move the elephant I found it staggering along painfully slow and in its own direction. I then realized what it meant by circular motion and repeatedly pressed the left up right down arrow keys, and the elephant began to make its way to the end of the level on its own accord.
That was just one example, and one of the easiest. The movement of the elephant is also very abrupt. It moves fast and doesn’t vary in speed depending on how long you hold the key down for. When you release the arrow key it stops dead on that spot, this can become very tricky, and when you find yourself dying from spikes that have been situated in the same area for the past twenty minutes it can get to you!
The main interface itself can help if you find yourself completely stuck. There is a walkthrough button at the bottom; here it will tell you the objective for each level. The interface also shows your amount of deaths and the current time. Don’t be down heartened by your amount of deaths, first time round I had 73!
All in all, ‘This Is The Only Level TOO’ poses some challenging problems that will keep you glued to your screen – and you will not become detached from until you are satisfied that you have beaten the game. You better make sure you don’t have any plans for the next half hour…
Another fun set of puzzle/skill games that are free to play online are the balloon games where each has 50 levels and the aim is to pop a certain percentage of balloons using a monkey and a set of darts.
