The Xbox 360 has been out for some time now, and during this time we have seen some great titles. Some of these titles have left us with memories and wanting more from the production companies and others make us regret that we even paid for the thing. It makes us say all kinds of bad things to the production companies.
Of course, considering how much money we’re expected to part with, how can anyone blame us for having high hopes in terms of the production companies producing a good game. After all, considering how much money these companies make, they essentially don’t have the right to release a game simply to boost their profits. Admittedly, a game doesn’t necessarily need a great storyline in order for it to be good, but it does need a few things in order to make it unforgettable.
Perhaps you had the misfortune of playing a game called “Two World’s”? Fair enough, I suppose there were a handful of people who enjoyed it but I think it’s safe to assume that the vast majority simply hated it. Not only were the graphics terrible, but the sound and control configuration were just as bad. In fact, there really was nothing good about it at all.[youtube:boDiN869Ilg;[link:XBOX 360 Repair];http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boDiN869Ilg&feature=related]
Then along came “Hour-of-Victory” which you may not have heard of considering it was a total failure. Unfortunately, if this game had been released a year or two sooner then it may have been enjoyable. By the time it was released however, the graphics and sound quality simply couldn’t be compared to other games. Furthermore, at the time it was released, it certainly couldn’t compete against games such as the “Call-of-Duty” franchise. All in all, it was simply terrible.
Vampire Rain was yet another total disappointment, especially since we tend to expect vampire games to be great. After all, if we play a stealth game we expect it to be challenging in the same way the Splinter Cell games are. However, in Vampire Rain, you could sneak past the vampires, even bumping them in the process, and yet you could still get through. The fact that the game was an instant failure says it all.
Perhaps you remember “Jumper”? When a game is originally intended for a lower end machine, the programmers to a certain extent deserve a little bit of credit with regards to making it slightly better for a new platform. However, with Jumper that was certainly not the case considering it made use of PS2 graphics all the way through. In fact, it was an insult to our intelligence.
The games mentioned above are just the tip of the iceberg as far as bad games are concerned. As you may have already discovered yourself, it’s incredibly easy to throw your money away on a bad game simply because by the time you realize it, it’s too late.
For your own good, you need to do some research before you purchase a game, bearing in mind that there are some websites which offer good, honest and unbiased reviews. Perhaps the old adage should apply in that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.
