Rogue – Backstabber Supreme

Rogues are one of 10 classes you can choose from in WoW. They wield melee weapons and do tons of damage with them when combined with the devastating attacks they learn. Most of the attacks a Rogue can make consume an amount of Energy. An Energy bar which shows the available amount of Energy can be found under the hit point bar of the player. A Rogue can have 100 Energy (with a certain talent 110 Energy even) which recovers over time if it is not at the maximum amount.

A Rogue can be chosen by Dwarf, Gnome, Night Elf and Human players from the Alliance side and by Troll, Orc, Undead and Blood Elf players of the Horde side. People that play Rogues usually like to play versus the other faction and the Rogue class is very good at killing others. Because the Rogues can go stealth they can usually make a first move which gives them an edge in combat. Once in stealth a series of attacks becomes available followed by a series of attacks that become available once they are visible. Click here to watch the video: WoW Rogue

The majority of the attacks the Rogues can make award them with combo points. In total you can place five combo points on a target. Besides the attacks that award combo points Rogues also have access to several finishing moves which do more damage, stun longer etc. when the target has more combo points on it. If you have 5 combo points on a target you will deal more damage or stun longer in example, than when a target only has one combo point on it.

The Rogue, unlike other classes that can DPS as well, do not have any healing spells or do not have any real tanking capabilities. When you do decide to play a Rogue however you can top damage meters with a bit of dedications. If you want to be one of the major damage dealers in your guild it is possible. This means that you must know all the attacks, good talent trees, the best attack rotations, which gear you should chase, which professions you should level and more. Probably the most important aspects are the talent trees. Rogues can choose between the Assassination, Combat and Subtlety talent trees. If you are leveling a Rogue you should choose the Combat talent tree. As a combat specced Rogue you will have an easier time leveling because you will get a decent amount of survivability while you will get several strikes like Ghost Strike that will increase your damage output. Because the Rogue will get more Parry and Dodge rating he will lose less health and because it also boost the offhand damage and crit and hit rating leveling becomes much easier.

As you gain levels, and especially when you reach the level cap, the Assassination tree becomes a more viable option. For those of you who like to play PvE it is a great build that especially focuses on the Backstab attack. For those of you who like to play PvE it is a great build that especially focuses on the Backstab attack. Most talents are based on attacking from behind which makes it less good for soloing.

If you have an enemy that is turned towards the tank however, you can attack the target from behind and spam your attacks to make amazing amounts of damage. The Subtlety talent tree is usually picked by players that enjoy PvP. Because you will become quite tough, harder to detect while stealthed and be able to do nice amounts of damage in a short period of time, this build is nice against enemy players. Because you will want to do damage for longer fights in PvE this talent tree is really meant for PvP players.
