Dj Hero by Activision

The Nintendo team and game publishers like Activision and UBI soft are doing an grand job when providing us with their latest new innovations. In 2009 year we have seen many new type of games getting out and now the latest announced from Activision titled DJ Hero game which made us all thrilled to get our hands on this Wii game. After the huge success of Guitar Hero game where players use the bundled plastic guitar to follow the song notes and compete in different challenges, here is another similar game to it but this time players will use the bundled plastic professional DJ turntable to mix songs while performing in clubs.

I’ve long thought that Hip Hop and Rap has gotten the short end of the stick from Videogames. It seems like we’ve played videogames with Rappers doing absolutely everything EXCEPT making Hip Hop. We have played Rapper in videogames based on pimped cars, Wrestling, GTA like games, and Fiddy as a super hero taking out terrorists. There have been rap songs in music games like Rock Band, Lips and SingStar. There has been plenty of Hip Hop in video game soundtracks but there has not actually been a hit game about making Hip Hop music besides Parappa the Rappa on PSOne. Hip Hop has been a major force in popular western culture for the past three decades. It is about damn time that we see a game about playing Hip Hop and Electronica.

In the recent E3 games convention some news were revealed. First and first a brand new track will be featured in the game born from the reunion of Jay-Z and Eminem. Other exciting news was that the game will feature ten different tracks where the “old” guitar hero controller could be used side by side with the new turntable controller. This is great news for the fans of both rock and dance music, that genres like rap metal or rap rock will be integrated into the game.
