DKs’ system of attack is based on their runic power. There are two runes available for all types of spells and attacks, and these runes have a cooldown which is consumed when the spell/attack is used. The DK has three different types of runes: two Frost, Blood, and Unholy. Same goes for the talent trees a DK has – Frost, Blood and Unholy.

Death Knights wear armor made from plate, can cast spells and are also good melee dpsers. The Death Knight class can play both a tank and a good melee dps role in any dungeon group and raid. He can’t wear shields but he can use a one handed weapon or use two two-handed weapons.
To be able to create a DK you will need to have a level 70 char. The nice thing about the Dead Knight is that you start at level 55. Another good point is that you will already have some money at disposal, set of bags and decent gear to continue your leveling.
Your journey will start in The Ebon Hold in the Eastern Plaguelands. When you start you will be on the side of the Lich King. While doing the quests around The Ebon Hold you will receive orders directly from the Lich King. By completing the quests in this area you will receive your talent points and better gear. Because you start at level 55 you have missed out on some talent points but you can earn these back through questing.

At the level 58 the quest chain you were on will change its course. Near the Holy Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands you will break lose of the will of the Lich King and fight side by side with enemies of the Lich King. After this scenario you can go anywhere you please and it is advised that you continue your adventure in the Outlands where you can continue leveling. Your DK will have all the necessary talent points, nice gear and a nice story to tell when he/she enters the Outlands.
When it comes to primary professions a Death Knight is no different than any other class. The choice of professions is solely up to you, however there are a few professions that can match a DK good. Enchanting is advisable for any char simply because it is useful and can give you nice stats upgrade with the ability to enchant rings. Since ring enchants are only available for the Enchanter himself it is nice for any character. A wise choice when it comes to primary professions could also be a combination of Jewelcrafting and Mining. Later on in the game you will be able to obtain better gear which will have more sockets and this is why Jewelcrafting is nice since all of the gems you can make will be improving your char’s stats. If you choose to become a Jewelcrafter you will be able to craft other pieces of gear like rings and necklaces. Blacksmithing could also be a good option for your DK because you will be able to craft plate gear which you can actually wear. With Blacksmithing you will be also able to create sockets for some pieces of your armor (gloves and wrists) and belt buckles which you can sell to other players and of course use them for your own belt.
Playing a Death Knight will definitely bring you loads of fun. The only down point is that there are so many of them. Almost everybody has a Death Knight these days because they are so easy to level and start at level 55.
