Answer:
Microsoft has came out with a new protection on their DVD's the newer games are under a catigory called "Wave 4" wich means they have extra protection. (actually i think just one thing is changed) so you need to re-mod your xbox, or use a boot disk to play the games.
Dragon Age : Origina and Assassin's Creed II are examples of Wave 4 disks. so are any newer disks.
Also a couple months ago Microsoft ran a sort of ping test, or something. They sent out a code to any xbox connected to xbox live, and if the xbox didnt match that code then it was modded and instantly banned. where all unmodded matched the code and where just fine.
WARNING: using a boot disk means higher chance of your x-box being detected. if it hasent been already.

You might be aware that when MS updates your system they also update their protective scripts to any game that is played on your system. So while your system is modded the games are not. It's a simple fix it to prevent piracy violations. Even if you own the disc. Sony did this years ago with the 1st gen Playstation. Lots of people could no longer even play on their consoles.
Not saying that I agree with it nor that you are doing anything illegal, but there are people that do and the manufacturers have an expectation of copyright safety. They're slightly draconian in the way they go about it but imagine how much we'd be paying for a game if they let every instance go. You couldn't afford 1 game let alone your entire library.
