Updates on Flashed Xbox 360?

Hey, Im going to flash my xbox 360. And i assume that il be banned on xbox live, but will i be able to get updates to both the xbox itself and the games? And will i be able to connect my flashed xbox with burned games via system link to a xbox that is unmodified and using original games?

Suggestion:

No you can't get updates to games.

You can update the system via downloading it on a computer, transferring it to a dvd/usb and updating it that way.

Yes you can still use system link on a banned xbox.
