A ring around the center of a disc can only be made by moving your Xbox 360 around while the disc is spinning around inside it.
Your best bet is to set your xbox up in a standing position.
also the disc can be buffed out if the scratch is not to deep however it is not advisable to buff it out. To much buffing can ruin your disc
no its not finished, its happened to me many times but I have always fixed it by rubbing metal polish around the disk. after its finished just wash it off with warm water. it will not damage the disk. always works. i use silver polish but it should work with any metal polish, just don't put loads on, keep adding until it works.
