Suggestion:
Flashing and putting a mod chip in, is essentially the same thing. Yes to play burned games you need to JTag (which is the proper term) the xbox to support that, but Microsoft doesn't condone that, so if you do JTag it remember you are completely out of warranty and out of luck if anything happens, if MS find out about it, they will also ban you from xbox live.
